Whetstone Golf Club – October 2019
Congratulations to all the club teams on their efforts and successes throughout 2019. Whilst the main competition season is now essentially complete; Winter Leagues have started and thanks to Daz Currie for organising and running the weekend competitions again this year and similarly the Seniors whose Winter League has also commenced. Hopefully we will not lose too many matches to bad weather albeit it was very providential for the England – All Blacks game!
Presentation Night – 19th October
Thank you to Mo Morris and Kev Parker for comparing a successful evening with the new PA system being well appreciated. Thank you also to the Competitions and Handicaps Sub Committee and especially to Paula Shaw and Peter Seddon for all their organisation and management of the prizes and presentations.
Race Night – 26th October
A very Big Thank You to Bill Bowley for organising another
very successful Race Night raising an amazing £1250 for LOROS,
the Club Charity, not forgetting the Tote Team that made
it all work.
Thank you also to Sam and her team for good food and service.
Whilst a few teething problems with the additional use
of the PA system; delighted to say it was all right on the night.
If you could not hear then you must have been shouting for your horses.
Win or lose I trust you had a great night and thank you for supporting LOROS.
Captain’s Dinner – 9th November
The year has flown by and it is nearly time for the Captain’s Dinner. Three course meal, complimentary wine on the tables and a Disco. Don’t miss what promises another great evening. Tickets available from myself or just put your menu selections on the list on the main board and I will reserve you tickets. Again the event will be in benefit of LOROS.
Charity Jar on the Bar
The jar keeps giving and another £66 has been collected for LOROS. Thank you to all who miss the 17th and donate. It is all for a good cause.
The course continues to play well and has essentially recovered from the very hot weather of summer 2018. Good to see the divot bags being used and the obvious results around the course. Disappointing however, is the number of unrepaired pitch marks. Let us all do our bit towards great greens.
