Whetstone Golf Club – September 2019
The competition season is now coming to a close apart from the AM-AM at the end of the month. A big thank you to everyone who organise, manage, take part and congratulations to all who have been successful. See the websites for the results.
A very successful day; a well supported event both during the day Competition and the evening Hog Roast all blessed with exceptional weather. A big thank you to Mo for organising a great day and raising £760 to be split equally between the Members fund and LOROS the club charity.
A big Thank You to the Ladies Committee for organising a very successful day with 18 pairs competing. The event had lapsed in recent years but hopefully this will set a trend for an increasingly successful event in the future.
Past Captains’ Day
Irrespective of the small turnout and mixed weather all enjoyed the match and meal afterwards.
Congratulations to Donna Pywell and Peter Seddon for an excellent 43.
Needless to say there were calls for handicap reviews!
Presentation Night – 19th October
We look forward to seeing as many members a possible to share the evening and congratulate those receiving prizes.
Race Night – 26th October
Bill Bowley is organising another one of his great race evenings with food; tickets are available from Bill or the Bar at £12 each. Profits all in aid of LOROS the club charity.
Captain’s Dinner – 9th November
The year has flown by and it is nearly time for the Captain’s Dinner. Three course meal, complimentary wine on the tables and a Disco. Come and enjoy a great evening. Tickets available from myself or just put your menu selections on the list on the main board and I will reserve you tickets. Again the event will be in benefit of LOROS.
Charity Jar on the Bar
The Jar keeps collecting with another £100 recently credited to the charity account. Thank you to all who miss the 17th and donate. It is all for a good cause.
Thank you to the green keepers who persevere through all weathers. The course will certainly benefit from the recent rain although not great for those playing. Good to see the divot bags being used and the result around the course. Don’t forget to return the bags!
