Competition Conditions (18)

Foursomes/Greensomes  

1.   Competitions will be held in accordance with the R&A Rules of Golf and the Whetstone Competition Rules as published.  Competitions are open to all  Members with a current WHS handicap. However a cap may be applied ( see Competition Calendar for details)

2.   Handicap Allowance will be in accordance with Appendix  C of the CONGU manual. (Greensomes - 0.4x Higher playing handicap plus 0.6x Lower playing handicap. Foursomes- ½ of the combined playing handcaps).

3    The event will be Strokeplay .  Strokes received will be the full Handicap Allowance as calculated in 2 above (including fractions). Ties will be decided based on FRACTIONAL nett scores on back 9, back 6 , back 3, last hole successively. Thereafter one hole at a time starting at the first. ( In accordance with appendix N of the CONGU manual)

4    In Stableford Events, strokes given will be the difference of the Handicap Allowance as calculated in 2 above, rounded to the nearest whole number. Ties will be decided based on nett stable ford scores on back 9, back 6 , back 3, last hole successively. Thereafter one hole at a time starting at the first.

5    In Matchplay Events, strokes given will be the difference of the Handicap Allowance as calculated in 2 above, rounded to the nearest whole number. In the event of a match finishing square after then prescribed number of holes, and if a winner is required then play will continue from the first hole onwards until a hole is won.
