Competition Conditions (3) Summer Knock-Out Rules 2024 Entries:- Entry to the competition is by writing your names on an envelope and enclosing the entry fee (£8 per pair). Entries must be made before 26th March 2024. The draw will be published by 1st April 2024. Entrants must be paid up members for season 2024-2025. Format:- 4 Ball Better Ball Matchplay (R&A rules Apply). Maximum Handicap Index:- Men 54(capped at 28) Juniors 54 (capped at 28) Ladies 54(capped at 36) Tees:- Men/Juniors - white tees to be used if out otherwise yellow. Ladies - Red Handicaps:- Playing Handicaps (100%) are as prescribed in the WHS rules according to this Allowance and Tees being used. See notice board for a table of Playing Handicaps. In Mixed Tee competitions an allowance of 1 extra is to added to Ladies PH ( difference in par) Players will receive strokes amounting to 90% of the DIFFERENCE in Playing Handicaps taken from the lowest handicap of the 4 players (even if the lowest is not present) and then rounded. Strokes to be taken as indicated from the men's indices. Contact Details:- Players must enter their contact details on the draw sheet within two weeks of the draw being made. Dates:- Players may agree to play at any time before the stipulated date, but players must endeavour to contact their opponent at least two weeks before the stipulated date to arrange a time/date for their match. Players are responsible for booking their own tee times. It is expected that all members will cooperate with their opponents in arranging a mutually agreeable date. If an agreement cannot be reached players may contact the Competition Committee who may specify a tee time, award the match to one of the teams or eliminate both teams from the competition. Matches may only be played after the stipulated date if the course has been closed on the arranged date or if play has been suspended due to poor light and then only by agreement with the Competition Committee. If at least one player from a team is present on tee at the agreed time and neither of his opponents are, then the team in attendance will go through. If neither teams show then both will be eliminated. Substitutes are not allowed. Winners of the tie must record their result on the draw sheet immediately after playing. Ties:- In the event of a match being all square after 18 holes it will be decided by "sudden death", with play continuing from the first hole. Strokes continue to be taken as per the stroke indices.
